In occasione del Salone di Detroit 2018, Nissan ha svelato per la prima volta il concept Xmotion (che si pronuncia cross motion), SUV compatto rivoluzionario a tre file e sei posti che unisce la cultura e la tradizione artigianale giapponese con la praticità americana e le tecnologie all’avanguardia Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Dal punto di vista estetico il concept Xmotion presenta un design robusto e moderno, esaltato dalla presenza di grossi cerchi e pneumatici all-terrain.

Gli interni del SUV sono pensati per richiamare i paesaggi giapponesi, rendendo omaggio alle radici di Nissan senza rinunciare a un’interfaccia grafica e tecnologie di guida autonoma all’avanguardia. Il design del quadro strumenti del concept Xmotion deriva da un’interpretazione moderna del kigumi, un altro metodo della falegnameria tradizionale che, richiamando l’aspetto di una solida struttura ossea, comunica un senso di forza e sicurezza. Infine, i display e il sistema di infotainment si possono comandare attraverso i gesti delle mani e i movimenti degli occhi. I comandi intuitivi, anche di tipo vocale, permettono al conducente di concentrarsi solo sulla guida, consultando le informazioni essenziali in modo intelligente, facile e sicuro.

Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President Global Design di Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. ha dichiarato: “Per il concept Xmotion, abbiamo esplorato diversi lati della Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Le forme e le proporzioni sono audaci e potenti, contrastano con quelle dell’artigianato giapponese espresse in chiave contemporanea. La combinazione tra aspetti occidentali e orientali è evidente sia all’esterno che all’interno, dove connessione avanzata e tecnologie autonome si fondono con l’arte digitale moderna e artigianato giapponese. Se a prima vista Xmotion sembra avere un design minimal, con uno sguardo più attento emergono dettagli che rendono questo concept eccezionale.”
